It produces two distinct categories of instruments for different use: Local temperature reading The temperature is indicated at the place where it is measured. The operation of such an instrument requires no external energy supply. This is the bimetallic or gas-pressure thermometer. Remote temperature reading In this case, the information is sent to and indicated at a place other than that in which the measuring device is located. In this case, thermo-electric sensors requiring a 24V power supply are used.
